Additional arrest made in relation to recent gold fraud
A further individual has been detained for his involvement in the most recent gold scam. On July 19, a team from the Department of Revenue Investigations entered Tribhuvan International Airport and recovered 60.716 kg of gold. The Bara district’s Shiva Kumar Sarraf has been taken into custody, according to Deputy Inspector General of Police Kuber Kadayat. Sarraf was taken into custody by the Central Investigation Bureau on Thursday night. With this arrest, authorities reported that there have now been 27 people detained in relation to the gold swindle.
A person who was detained on suspicion of sending a fraudulent receipt using the internet to defraud Rs 1.095 million has been identified by the police. Sushan Ghimire, 22, comes from Godavari municipality-7 in Lalitpur and is now residing in Gothatar in Kathmandu, according to Minbhawan, Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi, the spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. Ghimire has been dispatched to the District Police Range, Teku, for more case investigation.
