Asia Cup final, Sri Lanka bowled out for 50 runs

Asia Cup final,  Sri Lanka gave India a meager target of 51 runs. After winning the toss in Colombo and choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka were bowled out after scoring a total of 50 runs in 15.2 overs. India’s Mohammad Siraj alone took 6 wickets, Hardik Pandey 3 and Jasprit Bumrah 1 wicket.

Siraj took 6 wickets by spending 21 runs keeping 1 maiden in 7 overs. Hardik took 3 wickets with just 3 runs in 2.2 overs. Bumrah spent 23 runs and took 1 wicket keeping 1 maiden in 5 overs. Kudlip Yadav gave only 1 run in 1 over.

Kushal Mendis scored the highest 17 runs for Sri Lanka while Dushan Hemantha remained unbeaten on 13 runs.

In the first over, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Kusal Perera and gave India a good start. Then Siraj took four wickets in the fourth over of the match with brilliant bowling.

Siraj dismissed Pathum Nisanka in the first ball, Sadira Samarawickrama in the third ball, Charitha Aslanka in the fourth ball and Dhananjay Da Silva in the sixth ball. In that over, Dhananjay hit Siraj for a boundary.

In the sixth over of the match, Siraj bowled the Sri Lankan captain Dasun Sanaka and took the first five wickets in the ODI match in his career. By that time, Sri Lanka had already lost 6 wickets after scoring 12 runs.

In the 12th over, Siraj bowled Mendis. Then Hardik Pandya took three consecutive wickets. Young player Dunith Velalez, who performed all-round against India in the Super Four, was caught out by wicketkeeper KL Rahul.
