At the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Nepal has won its first medal. In women’s kabaddi, Nepal took home the bronze medal.
In the women’s kabaddi semifinal match, Nepal was defeated by India. Nepal was only able to win the bronze medal after losing to India. In the recently concluded semifinal asian games , India trounced Nepal 61–17 points.
Nepal finished second in Group B, earning a spot in the semifinals. India similarly emerged as Group A’s victor and advanced to the semifinals. Nepal has at least a bronze medal in the present Asian competition after making it to the semifinals. All four Kabaddi teams that advance to the semifinals are guaranteed medals under the rules.

Nepal competed in women’s kabaddi for the first time at the Asian Games. In Group B with Nepal were Iran and Bangladesh. As the group B champion, Iran has advanced to the tournament’s semifinals. Iran is now competing against Chaipei of China, who finished second in Group ‘A’.
Prior to it, Nepal won the first match against Bangladesh by a score of 37–24 and the second match against Iran by a score of 19–43. Manmati Bishta, Jayanthi Badu, Sunita Thapa, Rabina Chaudhary, Anuja Kulung Rai, Ganga Ghimire, Neetu Gurung, Isha Rai, Arpana Chaudhary, Srijan Tharu, and Kalawati Pant made up the Nepali team, which was led by Menukakumari Rajvanshi.
