Why is Taiwan angry with Alan Musk?
Elon Musk, owner of Tesla, Space X and X (Twitter), is constantly admired for his words and actions His comments on Taiwan are now more controversial, and Taiwan itself has been heavily criticised.
Referring to Musk’s claim that the island of Taiwan is part of China, Taiwan replied that it is not for sale.
“Listen, the People’s Republic of Taiwan is not part of China and certainly not for sale,” Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Oo wrote on social site X .
At a recent business forum, Musk compared Taiwan to the island of Hawaii, saying that Taiwan is an integral part of China.
China claims that Taiwan is a sovereign state and tensions between China and Taiwan have increased in recent years.
Recently, China conducted air and naval exercises near Taiwan. Taiwan reported that in addition to 10 Chinese ships entering its waters, 40 Chinese warships were spotted in its airspace.

This is not the first time Elon Musk, who has business interests in China, has provoked Taiwan for ostensible personal reasons. In October last year, he called for giving China some leverage over Taiwan to ease tensions between Beijing and Taipei.
In an interview with the Financial Times, he said the two countries could reach a reasonable and acceptable agreement. The Chinese ambassador to the United States praised Musk’s appearance. However, his Taiwanese counterpart strongly opposed it and replied that Taiwan’s independence was not for sale.
Regarding Musk’s statement, Taiwanese Foreign Minister Ou Le X (Twitter) wrote: I hope Elon Musk will ask the Chinese Communist Party to allow Chinese to use social site X .
